Winter in LA
Vacation time for kids officially starts today, and if you’re wondering what to do with two/three weeks of no school… we suggest finding a little ‘chill’ close to home! Here are some great spots to experience a winter wonderland within driving distance.
The world famous Queen Mary, in Long Beach Harbor, is home to one of the largest Ice Adventure Parks in CA. Enjoy skating at the outdoor rink that overlooks the harbor, take a ride on the 145 ft Matterhorn Mountain ice tubing slide, or zip-line 300 ft over the entire park! Don’t forget to have a frozen cocktail at the Ice Bar! CHILL is open now until Jan 7th.
Bundle up and head to Downtown LA to the Bai Holiday Ice Rink in Pershing Square. This huge outdoor rink is open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, take the metro there and get a discount on your ticket.
If you want a little beach with your winter fix, Santa Monica has fantastic outdoor skating a few blocks from the 3rd St Promenade and Santa Monica Pier. Skate at Ice’s 8,000 sq ft rink, then ride the Pier’s famous ferris wheel for some of the best views up and down the coast. A full day event!
