Fall In LA
Autumn is upon us, and although we may not get the biggest change in scenery or temperature, LA makes up for it with a diverse and festive line up of all things Fall! Grab your sweater and head to one of our favorite spots this month, here in town or a couple hours drive outside of the city. Mr. Bones in Culver City will get you ready for Halloween, special treats like David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption will be sure to intrigue your senses, or head to Oak Glen to pick apples and see the leaves changing color.
Apple harvest is in full effect in Oak Glen, which is only an hour drive but 10 degrees cooler and feels like a world away from LA. This five mile loop has over 30 farms, ranches, and orchards that you can visit every day, make apple cider, feed the animals, and see the incredible foliage. http://www.oakglen.net/
If you want something uniquely LA, get tickets for this weekend’s Festival of Disruption at the Ace Hotel. Curated by David Lynch, this is the fourth year where he brings together his favorite artists with the intention to expand our consciousness thorough creativity. Talks and screenings with Lynch and Francis Ford Coppola, live music by RZA, an exhibition by Christian Louboutin and a soundbath by Jónsi (of Sigur Rós) are a few of the highlights. Wow! https://festivalofdisruption.com/#festival
Right in our backyard is one of the best and most iconic LA Pumpkin Patches, Mr. Bones in Culver City. For 30 years, they have provided LA with a little bit of the country, with their rows of pumpkins, a petting zoo, a straw maze, and special Halloween activities. Don’t miss their annual dog costume contest on Oct 17th, 5:30-7:30! If you buy your tickets in advance on their site, you can skip the line.
