Memorial Day Weekend means one thing – it’s officially the start of summer! So in addition to the standard summer lark of trips to the beach, BBQs, laying by the pool and picnics in the park, we’ve rounded up a few events that we’re looking forward to in the next couple of months.
You can’t truly call yourself an Angeleno until you’ve experienced a movie at the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. One of Lorin’s all-time favorite events, Cinespia brings classic cult favorites to the LA landmark every summer and this year’s lineup is no different – from blockbusters like E.T to indie classic Reality Bites to Hitchcock’s Rear Window. Grab your picnic blankets, delicious snacks and enjoy a film under the stars. Make sure to book your ticket early as the screenings sell out fast. Click here for more info.
Downtown LA’s free annual summer music festival, FIGFest, returns to FIGat7th to energize the city this June with fun summer nights and eclectic sounds. Kicking off on June 7th and running for four consecutive Friday nights the outdoor plaza will be brought to life with performances by leading rock, hip-hop, pop, soul, dance, and electronic artists. There will also be a variety of food and drink on offer at the TASTE Food Hall. For the full line-up and dates, click here.
Foodies can rejoice – summertime equals the LA Food Fest, LA’s largest and longest-running tasting event held at Santa Anita Park. Held on June 29th this year, it is the event’s 10th anniversary and it will feature over 100 booths from hot restaurants and celebrity chefs, craft beer, tequila tasting and much more. The ticket price is all inclusive so we would definitely recommend to skip breakfast and wear something comfortable to take advantage of all the delicious food being served. For tickets, click here.
