Organize & Categorize

Along with exterior painting, landscaping also determines whether your home feels inviting from the outside. If you’re not sure where to start, local garden centers often offer free design services, or ask your neighbors for recommendations. The average homeowner spends about $3,502 for landscaping and $1,465 on a designer, according to the American Nursery Landscape Association.

We truly believe in the power of paint – it can be very transformative whether it’s used on the interior or exterior. Painting the exterior can enhance curb appeal and helps make a strong first impression for potential buyers. This fall, the exterior trending colors are Dovetail by Sherwin-Williams, Teal Mosaic by Behr Ultra and Aesthetic White, also by Sherwin-Williams. While on the interior, a fresh paint job provides an instant facelift. For interior paint color, we recommend white or light, neutral tones.

Key Room Updates

Consider undertaking minor remodels of key rooms that will provide the biggest average return at resale such as the bathroom or kitchen. According to HGTV, a minor bathroom remodel has an average recoup rate of 102%. Replacing the tub, tile surround, floor, toilet, sink, vanity and fixtures costs approximately $10,500. The average return is $10,700 at resale, a return of investment of 102%.
