Top Things To Do This Holiday Season

Needing Some Pointers On What To Do This Holiday Season?

We’re Here To Help.

Things To Do:

  1. Cleaning + Decorating: Everyone knows this time of year often means guests could be arriving at your home for the holidays. It is an excellent time of year to declutter, organize, and set up your holiday decorations. Remember, decorations can range from simple touches to that extravagant tree you’ve wanted. This time of year is one where we pull out old items that hold memories and reflect on them. What’s a favorite item of yours you love to surface out for the holidays?

  2. Holiday Baking: Whether you are a seasoned baker or prefer to stay out of the kitchen, this season is perfect for filling the home with the smell of baking. Make some sugar cookies, perhaps some snickerdoodles, either way baking can be a wonderful activity for a couple or a family with kids. Everyone loves a bite into a warm cookie during the winter season. Heres a soft cookie recipe for you to try.

  3. Self Care: The end of the year is personal to everyone. Some are more active while others may be settling into their winter routines. This season begs for you to treat yourself. Whether it’s a moment of reflection in the morning on what you cherish this season, or a well needed massage, you deserve it. One self care item we love and doubles as a great gift is an essential oil diffuser. There are incredible emotional benefits from aromatherapy that do make a difference in your home.

The season can be stressful, busy, and cluttered. Let’s make this season calm and nurturing for you. Book those self care appointments either before or after the holiday season…you wont regret it.

Things To Watch:

  1. Charlie Brown Christmas: Troubled at the commercialism he sees around him, Charlie Brown tries to find a deeper meaning to Christmas. Ages of all can enjoy this heart warming movie.

  2. Dr. Seuss The Grinch: The Grumpy Grinch plots to ruin Christmas for the village of Whoville. This incredible animation gives the audience plenty of laughs, smiles, and messages to think about.

  3. Home Alone: An eight-year-old troublemaker must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation. This Christmas comedy classic brings extra attention this season with the Home Alone House available for AirBnB.

Everyone loves a movie night during the holidays! Spend some time enjoying a Christmas classic with friends & family. Carmel popcorn anyone?

Things to Read:

  1. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens: A novel with the message to his readers that Christmas is the time of year where everybody should rejoice and be happy.

  2. The Gift of the Magi (Holiday Classics Illustrated by P.j. Lynch) by O. Henry: a story about an incredibly poor couple who sells their most important possessions in order to buy a perfect gift.

  3. Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg: Novel about the importance of believing, the value of friendship, respect for leadership and courage, and the beauty of being kind to others.

Looking to cozy up with a blanket and have a read? Perfect for families, these books will put you in the seasonal spirit as you reflect on their messages. Down time with a good book makes for heart warming evenings.

Number One Thing To Do: Acknowledge You’ve Made It

It is important for everyone to reflect during this season on the hard work done to get here. The end of the year is nearing and we will find ourselves in 2022 before we know.

The year has been difficult for everyone and it’s important to recognize we are here and present. Cherishing the moments made with friends and family is the essence of one being “Present.” This is something we love to remind ourselves while we purchase presents to gift this season.

To be present means being fully conscious of the moment and free from the noise of internal dialogue. Sensations often seem sharper, and you find yourself in bliss. Challenging yourself to be in this space can become an enjoyable daily aspect of your life.

If this time of year is particularly difficult for you or someone you love, remember that you are the present. Cherish that smile of yours, give those warm hugs, and share that incredible voice. These are the most we could ask of each other during the Holiday Season.

Wishing you a cozy and memorable time.
