Ultimate Guide to Mastering the Holidays in Los Angeles

We’re Here To Help This Holiday Season

What Tips & Tricks Will Help You Get Through This Holiday Shopping Season?

Let’s be real, this holiday season will either be smooth sailing or stuck at sea…quite literally. There are a few considerations to make when shopping this 2021 season. Let’s go over the top 4 here.

  1. Online Shopping – The heightened activity of online shopping will be inevitable; therefore more truck drivers delivering packages. How can you be smart with your online shopping during the season? Buy from American made businesses, whether small or large, they’re going to be able to ship it to you in time for the holidays. Overseas purchasing may get held up, so consider that. Also consider buying a variety of products for your friends / family from one vendor; one package with a dozen items is sure to arrive as opposed to dozens of packages on various days. There are so many small / boutique business owners who can ship to you on time and safely; these are the creators to support this season.
  2. In person Shopping – While each person is different with their shopping habits, to maximize your time and energy we will recommend doing your shopping in one large batch if possible. Driving around town can eat up more time in the car than in the store, so research those stores ahead and if they can fall in a centralized area. The Grove, The Americana, Citadel Outlets, Dover Street Market, The Blocc, Century City, 3rd Street Promenade, and Abbot Kinney are some of our favorites. The sooner you get the shopping started, the sooner it is completed. Simply finding time to get out and browse may spark ideas as to what to buy for whomever. Last minute shopping will not go well this season given the thinning supply already. Being proactive is crucial; this will reduce the amount of stress as well.
  3. Small Businesses – Definitely be sure to support a couple small businesses this season. Incredible handmade, quality, and charming products can be found easily now online or in person shops. These gifts are growing in popularity, especially the jewelry sector. Vintage shops and antique stores are great places to start with finding that authentic touch to a gift if you aren’t sure of a small business near you.  Instagram is another growing outlet of quality artisans selling their work. Custom artwork can be a wonderful gift to give.
  4. Time & Talents – Are you an artist? Can cook a delicious meal? Remember that sometimes the best gift you can give is one you make. The holiday season can be stressful enough with getting the home ready, having family over, and purchasing gifts. Sometimes the best gift you can give is yourself and a unique ability you have. Perhaps you’re skilled in gardening and can offer your service to your Mom or Grandma. On the more expensive end, purchasing a vacation is wonderful gift to spend future time with a family member. Thinking outside of the box can bring you endless gift ideas.
